vIT has a great deal of experience of filming live events such as seminars and conferences. Naturally there will be some equipment that isn’t usually at these kind of events (cameras, microphones etc.) but these are relatively unobtrusive and we’ll do our best to position ourselves out of the way.

Occasionally we can use natural lighting or lighting provided at the venue but if lighting conditions are unusable then we will use one, two or three stand mounted fluorescent lights. These remain cool in use and are not too bright to distract the speaker or the audience, or diminish any projected images on a screen, but they are very important for ensuring a decent end result.

Typically we employ a two camera setup, with one camera fixed on the speaker and the other either catching the speaker at a different angle or recording audience reaction. Audio feeds may be taken from your mixing desk or may be provided by us in the form of wired or wireless microphones.

For practical and safety reasons, live event filming requires a crew of two people unless it is a very small gathering, in which case one person may be sufficient.
